Voters in Dorset have been urged to back Brexit at the ballot box to ensure a swift departure from the European Union. Dorset’s leading Brexiteer Simon Boyd said a strong showing for the Conservative Party was vital in the General Election on December 12.
Chris Chope welcomes Boris Johnson’s commitment to include in the Queen’s Speech on the 19th of December a Bill to protect commuters from disruption caused by strikes. The Minimum Service Agreement Bill is promised in the programme for the first 100 days of a Conservative majority Government.
The first 100 days of a Conservative majority Government would see the passing of the Prime Minister’s Brexit deal, a Queen’s Speech to introduce key domestic legislation covering law and order and health and a post Brexit Budget to take advantage of the opportunities before us.
Chris is both a local and national campaigner for the rights of 180,000 park home residents. As Chairman of the All-Party Group he has highlighted the need for tough enforcement action against unlicensed sites to protect vulnerable and elderly residents.
Keeping a flourishing, vibrant local economy is essential. Chris is concerned that planning delays are frustrating investment in the Airport industrial estate and preventing the building of much needed new homes on brownfield land.
As a long-term campaigner for fairer funding for our local schools, Chris is delighted by the GovernmentÕs announcement of a 5.14% average increase in per pupil funding, far higher than the national average.
